Last winter Ben and Chloe ventured down to the deep south of New Zealand. They were helicoptered to the top of Mount Roy where Ben took a knee before his wife to be. The day after the proposal we walked along the Rob Roy Track in the Matukituki Valley, a pure gem of New Zealand's great outdoors. Ben and Chloe spend a lot of their free time tramping, rock climbing and abseiling in the wilderness, making it fitting to capture them in their element together. Joy, freedom and laughter were the words Yonita used when asked to describe what her wedding would be like. The day surely lived up to what was anticipated. Kwadwo and Yonita married on the coast over looking Scandretts Bay. The day played out with an early ceremony followed by a picnic reception lunch, a true summer styled wedding. Everyone spent the hot summers afternoon dancing away on the hilltop. Wow! I can defiantly now say Africans sure know how to have a good dance party! To say it was an amazing experience photographing these two would be an understatement. This couple share the most beautiful joy and deep affection for each other. In the last minute I heard they were coming in costume, which made it all the more fantastical to photograph. They danced the evening away in the golden hour and finished with a splash in the ocean! They make a wonderful visual representation of two worlds coming together, with Yonita being Dutch and Kojo Ghanian.
